We are very excited to have J.C. Hart be designated as one of the 2009 Best Places to Work in Indiana. One of the benefits of participating in the “Best Places” program is receiving the survey results from our J.C. Hart Associates and being able to contrast our results to other “Best Place” companies.
The areas from our survey results that appear to be opportunities for J.C. Hart to seek improvement have us focusing on Relationships with Supervisors as well as enhancing Training & Development. Anticipated actions to help us improve in these areas are as follows:
*Property Management Division will develop a “team building” program with Managers and Supervisors to help promote improved relations between the management teams and their maintenance departments.
*Construction Division will begin having bi-monthly meetings to promote communications between Project Managers and the Corporate Office and will include some timely topics involving construction training.
*Accounting Division is implementing an internal training program promoting a more global view of the analysis and financial review of the accounting process. They will implement additional training opportunities for Construction Accounting as well as Accounts Payable.
*We have created a “Best Practices” position to assure we are implementing immediate initial training of new Leasing Associates and ongoing training to help facilitate promotions from within for Leasing to Assistant or Assistant to Manager positions. CLASS training will now also be available online for immediate training of new Leasing Associates.
*We will create a committee of J.C. Hart Associates with one representative from each Division and every job category who will volunteer to serve under the direction of the HR Department to meet once a quarter to discuss how we can improve various elements of being employed as a J.C. Hart Associate. These volunteers will be engaged for one (1) year terms and the committee will rotate.
We anticipate using this past year’s participation in the “Best Places” survey as a benchmark for improvement in the coming years and are hopeful the initiatives listed above will help to improve the performance of our Associates and make employment with J.C. Hart more rewarding as a platform for professional growth.
