New Associates

J.C. Hart is pleased to introduce two new Associates! Jocilyn Watson is our new Leasing Specialist at North Haven. She studied Business Management at IVY Tech in Bloomington, Indiana and has recently received her real estate license. She has had lots of customer service experience but this is her first foray into property management. Jocilyn is excited about this new challenge and is ready to put her strong work ethic and interpersonal skills to task! She started at North Haven last week.






Alisha Webb started this week as our new Leasing Specialist at BayShore. Alisha has an Associates Degree in Business Administration from IVY Tech (where she attended classes with Jennifer Binder!) and has worked in different fields while earning her degree. She is high energy and hardworking and is looking forward to becoming an asset to the BayShore team.






We welcome both Jocilyn and Alisha and wish them the best of success in their new positions! We are very excited to have them on board!

New Associate

J.C. Hart is pleased to welcome a new Associate to our Bloomington properties! Jason Luman joined The Crest and City Flats on December 28th as their new Maintenance Technician. Jason has plenty of property maintenance and construction experience on his resume, including owning his own construction business for a while, doing drywall, framing and roofing contracts, among other things. He is so excited to be joining the Bloomington team that he could barely sleep the night before he started! We are very excited to have Jason on board as well. Please join us in welcoming Jason and wishing him the best of success in his new position at J.C. Hart!

New Associates


Welcome to our newest J.C. Hart Associates, Cheri Moreau and David Adkins!



Cheri joined the staff at Pebble Brook Village in October as their new Community Manager when Ashley Andert made the move to Gateway Crossing. Cheri had been with in property management previously with NTS since 2008 and before that had been a Construction Liaison for three years with Marsh Supermarkets. She also has experience as a visual merchandiser and interior design consultant! Cheri is married with two teenage sons and is delighted to be on the J.C. Hart team!





David Adkins is a familiar face in that he is a former J.C. Hart Associate, previously on the staff at Oak Lake. Dave decided, after a brief hiatus, that property management maintenance is where his talents lie and where he wanted to be. We are happy to have him back as a Maintenance Technician at Stonebridge and he is very glad to be where he can excel in excellent customer service! The Stonebridge staff is excited to have him in their team.

New Associates

J.C. Hart is pleased to welcome two new Associates - Robert Jones and Rebecca Hochgesang!


Robert (and his infectious smile) has joined the team at Oak Lake at Crooked Creek as their Maintenance Technician. Robert comes to us with many years of maintenance service experience in both the commercial and property management environments, including the Omni Hotel in downtown Indianapolis and AIMCO. He and his wife will soon be moving to Oak Lake. Robert is very excited to be a part of the J.C. Hart family!

Following her graduation from Marian College in 2009, Rebecca joined American Senior Communities as their Director of Marketing and Admissions. She has now joined the Pebble Brook Village team as a Leasing Specialist. You may have had a chance to meet Rebecca at our recent Shining Star event!


We welcome both of these new Associates and wish them much success in their new positions with J.C. Hart Company! We are very pleased to have them both on board and know they will make great additions to their teams!

Say Hello to Ryan Schmidt!

J.C. Hart Company is pleased to announce that Ryan Schmidt has joined the team in Bloomington as Maintenance Technician for The Crest and City Flats at Renwick. Ryan is from Bloomington and has over 18 years of experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and maintenance repair in both commercial and residential so we (especially the Bloomington team!) are very happy to have him on board. Ryan is father to a 5 year old daughter and enjoys fishing, baseball and golf whenever he isn't repairing AC units! Welcome to J.C. Hart, Ryan! We wish you the best of success in your new position!

Associate News


J.C. Hart Company is pleased to announce that John C. Hart, III (Johnny) is moving from the construction site to the Corporate Office to join the Development Division. Johnny will be assisting Todd May in coordinating due diligence reviews of future J.C. Hart projects and will continue to implement a strategy for job safety programs for our construction sites. Johnny's new title is Development & Job Safety Coordinator.

Hamilton County United Way Kudos

J.C. Hart received it's "Company That Cares" award at Hamilton County's United Way Celebration last week. J.C. Hart was also recognized for being the Largest First-Time Campaign in 2010 in Hamilton County, as well as for having 70% or Higher Employee Participation. Jennifer Binder, Mike Kemper, Jane Gosling, Jeff Bourff, Jade Williams and Holli Moore were on hand to receive these prestigious awards! All of our J.C. Hart Associates who took part in this first-time United Way campaign should feel very proud of what we accomplished and about the good that our dollars are doing in the local community. If you are a new Associate (since 2011) you may start making a weekly payroll contribution to the United Way at any time. Feel free to contact Sheila Wolter or Jane Gosling for more information. New Associate

We are pleased to introduce yet another new Maintenance Technician, Matt Loman, who has joined the team at Stonebridge this week! Matt is from the south side of Indianapolis and has worked the past several years learning HVAC skills and working as a Service Technician, delivering, installing, diagnosing and fixing appliances. Matt loves to meet new people and is very excited to be joining J.C. Hart. And he is obviously a Colts fan so he's got that going for him! Welcome aboard, Matt! We wish you all the best with your new team!

More Maintenance!



J.C. Hart is pleased to introduce two new Maintenance Technicians who completed their orientations June 1st.




Christopher Hankins is joining the team at Oak Lake. Chris is from Speedway, Indiana and has worked for a local fencing company the past five years. He also has masonry experience and is currently pursuing his HVAC certification at Ivy Tech Community College.







Andre Hunter is bringing his talents to Grassy Creek. Andre grew up in Plymouth, Michigan and has worked as a maintenance tech in HVAC for York Properties in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Most recently he was a line operator for Roll Coater in Greenfield.






We are happy to have both Chris and Andre on board and wish them the best of success in their new positions!

New Construction Associate

We are pleased to introduce our newest member of the Construction team, Ted Kattmann - Construction Superintendent. Ted has been hired initially to oversee the building of Phase II of City Flats at Renwick in Bloomington. Ted worked for almost 10 years with Pulte Homes as an Area Construction Manager. He is currently working in the Corporate Office, dealing with the necessary preliminary paperwork, but soon will be commuting between Bloomington and his home in Noblesville, where he lives with his wife, Danielle and their three year old baby boy, Samuel. Ted, congratulations on your new position with J.C. Hart. We look forward to a successful project completion at City Flats, Phase II, for starters!

Leasing Associates - New & Moved!



We are pleased to introduce our summer part-time Leasing Specialists, and also pleased that a couple of them have recently become Full-time Leasing Associates!



Helping us out at Austin Springs in Ohio is Krista Sheehan, who is also a free-lance writer, and whose father-in-law, Bill, has been doing grounds work at Austin Springs the past couple of years. Erin Casper is working part-time this summer at Pebble Brook Village. Erin is the Title 1 Director and Reading Coordinator for Taylor Community School Corp. in Kokomo. Lydia Wilkinson joined the staff at The Crest and City Flats in Bloomington as a part-time Leasing Specialist earlier this spring. Lydia also works at Baxter Pharmaceuticals as a chemist in the lab. She lives at The Crest with her boyfriend and their dog, Charlie!


New Full-time Associates:


Amanda Mathes, Leasing Specialist, is our most recent addition to the District at Saxony team in Fishers. Amanda worked in leasing and property management while living in Tennessee and most recently in West Lafayette when she was a student at Purdue where she received a degree in Management and Marketing. Amanda has taken ownership of her new position right off the bat, getting her first lease last week and helping to put together District's Market Survey. Way to go, Amanda!



Our two part-time Leasing Specialists who have recently gone to full-time are Stacy Martin and Ashlyn Anderson. Stacy has joined the team at BayShore and Ashlyn is splitting her time between Linden Square and The Waverley. Stacy hails from "the Region" (northwest Indiana) and earned an Associates Degree in Business from I.U. Northwest. She even served as the Business Manager for IUN's Phoenix Newspaper.




Ashlyn started part-time at Linden Square after getting to know the staff while being a resident there and now is full-time between Linden and The Waverley. Ashlyn's work experience has involved nannying, teaching at Grace Pointe Child Development, as well as being a Mary Kay consultant. She also enjoyed working as a server at Smokey Bones when she was in high school, except when she was carrying a large tray of drinks!



Welcome aboard, Amanda, Stacy and Ashlyn! We are very happy to have you on the J.C. Hart team and look forward to getting to know you better!



Other news of note: Laura Riggen has moved from BayShore to join the staff at Stonebridge and is enjoying getting to know her new surroundings just a little bit farther north! Welcome to Stonebridge, Laura. Also, Erika Garringer and Khrystal Richmond have traded places with Erika now residing at Gateway Crossing and Khrystal is now at North Haven! And we are happy to let you know that Kara Nichols, who was on bed rest for her pregnancy, has been released by her doctor and is back at work, currently splitting time between The District and BayShore. Her baby is due in July. Welcome back, Kara! But please, take it easy!

JCH Maintenance Update







It's been a challenge trying to keep up with all that is happening with our Maintenance personnel in the Property Management Division so we will try to bring everyone up to speed!




Earlier this spring two Bob's joined the team: Bob Vickery (Maintenance Technician) joined the crew at The District. Bob has twenty-five years of experience teaching in the engineering and technology fields, as well as construction related courses. He has remodeled a dozen or so homes and his other interests include bass fishing, landscaping and golf.




Bob Kinney is our new Maintenance Tech at Stonebridge. Bob has many years of experience in property management and, in fact, worked with Jackie Roberts previously. Bob's father was a custom home builder and says he worked for him from the time he could walk until his dad retired!











Most everyone is aware that Dave Draper is now the Maintenance Supervisor at Legacy Towns & Flats and we are pleased to officially announce that Nick McDaniel has been promoted to Maintenance Supervisor at Ashley Place. A nice promotion and becoming a new father, all in one month! Congratulations, Nick!





Coming in to assist Nick at Ashley Place is Scott Franklin, Maintenance Tech. Scott has worked in landscape & turf management, as well as a technician for Comcast Cable Company. He is a Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician and we are pleased to have him on the Ashley Place team!





Two new full-time Groundsmen have recently started: Derrick Perrin is on board at North Haven and Julio Quezada has joined the team at The Waverley. Julio has worked in machine operation, light demolition and most recently worked for Ryder/Whirlpool. Derrick has previous landscape and maintenance experience at LML Estate Management.We want to send out a warm welcome to all of these new Associates and wish them the best of success at their new communities!



Last, but not least, we have promoted another Maintenance Technician to Supervisor! Jeff Gardner will be taking the reigns at The District once a replacement for him can be found for Grassy Creek! Congratulations, Jeff! We know you're going to do a great job for us at The District!

Tailgating with United Way


Last Sunday, ten lucky J.C. Hart Associates, whose names were drawn out of a hat, were treated by the Indianapolis Colts to a pre-game tailgate party and tickets to the Colts vs Tennessee Titans. The tailgate party and game tickets were a thank you from the Colts for companies who ran new or 2nd year United Way campaigns and raised at least $10,000. Before kick off, representatives from the eligible companies were recognized on field. Our ten lucky attendees were: Tony O'Dell, Mark Juleen, Graydon Hood, Nick McDaniel, Lisa Fuller, Danny Dugger, Jackie Roberts, Dave Beaver, Jeff Bourff and Erika Garringer (not pictured). The other companies in attendance were: Allied Solutions, Ameriana Bank, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, EnerDel, Premiere Credit of North America, Schuckit & Associates, Sponsel CPA Group, Taft Stettinius & Hollister and I.U. Health Physicians. Mark Juleen represented us well on the field!

Promotion in Construction


J.C. Hart Company is please to announce the promotion of Jeffrey Bourff to Pre-Construction Contract Coordinator. Jeff joined J.C. Hart in October of 2008 as a Construction Superintendent and oversaw the construction of Renwick City Flats in Bloomington. After doing a tremendous job in Bloomington, he has been overseeing the completion of the pools at both Renwick and Legacy, as well as pre-construction assignments for Waverley's Phase II and the upcoming Ft. Ben project. The Pre-Construction/Contract Coordinator has the responsibility to coordinate all pre-construction drawings and documents with the Architect., review all construction drawings for accuracy and completeness, and issue bid packages as well as negotiate buy-out for each project. Jeff has already been acting in this capacity for the past few months and we are very pleased to make it official! Congratulations, Jeff! We wish you the best of success in your new position and know that you will give it your best every day!

From Disney to the District

J.C. Hart is pleased to introduce our newest Leasing Specialist, Angela May. Angela has extensive experience as an Account Executive with several radio stations, most recently the local Radio Disney station, but she is very excited to try out her "selling" skills in leasing. She joined the District at Saxony team on October 19th, a few weeks after getting a tour of the new community by her husband, Todd. Angela was so blown away by the product she decided she wanted to give leasing a try. She has just completed her first CLASS training and is ready to join Sherry Heck and Amanda Stevenson in leasing up the District! Welcome aboard, Angela! JC Hart Blue Goes Pink!

Thanks to all our J.C. Hart Associates who supported our October Breast Cancer Awareness efforts by purchasing a pink polo shirt. 59 shirts have been purchased by 45 Associates! That's outstanding! We look forward to sending a contribution of over $600 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, and raising awareness wearing our pink shirts in October. Excellent!

How Cool Is This?














Stonebridge held a resident event on August 18th to help raise funds for the Susan G. Komen foundation. Outback Steakhouse provided the food, free of charge, and in lieu of charging their residents for dinner, they asked for donations to support Komen. They raised $419!!! Isn't that outstanding? Thank you, Stonebridge staff, thank you Outback Steakhouse, and thank you, Stonebridge residents!! You rock!

New Faces

J.C. Hart is pleased to welcome two more new Associates to the team!


Carly Nance is our new Leasing Specialist for Austin Springs. Carly is an Ohio native and a recent graduate from the Univeristy of Akron where she received a degree in Exercise Science/Sports Management. While working with several sports organizations on campus, she also was a member of the Sinclair Community College Women's Basketball team. Carly's favorite job so far has been working as a student assistant for the Akron football team. She is a real competitor and is always ready for a challenge! We welcome her to Austin Springs to join forces with Marilee, Tony and Ted!



We welcome Mike Craig as our new Maintenance Supervisor for The Legacy. Mike has years of experience in both residential and commercial maintenance and construction so he will fit in nicely as the Legacy draws down from construction and goes completely into operations. He had his own construction business in Kentucky for ten years before moving back to Indiana where he ran the maintenance operations for Indiana Wesleyan University. Mike had initially inquired at the Legacy as a place to call home. Now it will be both work and home as he joins Deb, Jade and JaMarcus on the Legacy team!




In the meantime, Patricia Darling has moved from the Legacy to help out with maintenance at The District. Thank you, Tricia! And congratulations to Carly and Mike! We are so pleased to have you on board!
